Two houses combining a shop and two residential units., Stavanger heritage Centre, 2000, Project-Team: RK, SHS

The 1. house a tower-like massing facing an open square, the 2. house is adjacent, interposed between two smaller houses. We pursuaded the client to place the 1.house 4 meters from the property boundary in order to provide a popular outdoor restaurant. The issue: to create interconnected ”free spaces, off-spaces” as alternative interface between the town and its users: 1.private gardens and terraces. 2.Optional facade layers 3.galleries with a panoramic window facing the sea and mountains
