The reconstruction and conversion of three protected wooden houses into a bakery., Arnageren, Stavanger Heritage Centre, 2003, Project-Team: AD, SHS

We exploiting the potential of its complex protected structural character by opening up the first floor of all three buildings, thereby constructively utilising the old timber dividing walls and sections of the tiers of joists. The café, purchasing and salesand then the bakery where located in each house. The façade of the middle of the three buildings has been dismantled and replaced with a large glass façade that projects the site towards into the town’s main market square. The interior is inspired by a “cake aesthetic”.
