The recycling of temporary moduls into 80 new apartments, the Rosenberg construction yard, Stavanger, 2003, Project-Team: SHS, CA

Client: Bjerga Bygg As

The starting point was 4 housing blocks comprising 150 temporary moduls, owned by a maritime construction yard. Instead of demolishing, we propose a variety of transformations, comprising a wide range of reasonably priced and adaptable apartments for first-time buyers. Original substructures such as the deck platforms and utility rooms are retained. An additional floor has been added to 2 of the blocks. The facades are cladded with aluminium sheeting spray-painted in colours used on offshore installations.
