The rebuilding of an out- building that once stood in the garden 120 years ago., 1998-2003

Client: Ådne Kverneland and Ingebjørg Folgerø

The conservatory is located in a preserved garden within the Valberget public park in Stavanger, adjacent to a log house. The glasshouse is used as a conference room in which the glass walls and beams act to support the structure. In addition the house is facilitated by a variety of movable layers and surfaces such as the hinged stone walls facing the park. The design concept of the conservatory highlights the features surrounding it: the treetop above, the public park, and the view overlooking the harbour and the mountains beyond.
